Late October in the Wildwood Conservation Area is something special โ€” golden woodland, crisp air, and the calm of Wildwood Lake as your constant companion. The 9th Annual Wildwood Challenge is your chance to experience it all while helping keep the Avon Trail safe and walkable for everyone, year-round.

The admission price is $35.00. Wildwood Conservation charges $11 for parking. Carpool if you can.

Hike at your own pace around the full 22 km of Wildwood Lake trail (counterclockwise), through beautiful woodland and open lake views. Whether you’re out to push yourself or enjoy the scenery, this is a rewarding day on the trail โ€” rain or shine.

What to expect:

  • Two staffed rest stations (at 9 km and 17 km) with snacks and hot drinks
  • Drop-out options at both rest stops, with a ride back to your car if needed
  • A specially designed Wildwood Challenge badge for every participant
  • Experienced Avon Trail members are organizing and supporting the hike throughout

And the fun doesn’t stop at the trailhead โ€” all participants are invited to a post-hike gathering at Bruce’s house in Stratford at 7:00 pm. A great way to celebrate the day with fellow hikers!
