Don’t be disappointed. Spaces are filling up for the Avon Trail  5th Annual Wildwood Challenge Hike. It will take place Saturday October 26, 2019. Deadline for pre-registration is Thursday, October 10.

Distance: 22 km

Cost: Hike Entry fee: $30.00.  PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. SPACE IS LIMITED.

As noted, it is a fundraiser event. All proceeds from the $30 registration fee go towards  material costs to construct and maintain our trail signage, footpaths and bridges throughout the entire 121 kilometer trail.

Hikers will walk at their own pace following the Wildwood Lake circuit, a 22-km woodland trail of great natural appeal. Remember, your carrot for completion of the hike is your very own Wildwood Challenge badge. Wear it proudly.

The Wildwood trail is well maintained and well marked but can be moderately challenging in places.

This Challenge Features:

  • Each participant will receive a map and emergency whistle on October 26th.
  • Two refreshment stands with shelter will be set up on route.
  • Upon completion, each participant will receive a badge.
  • Recommendations: Bring water and lunch. Wear appropriate footwear for trail hiking. Dress in layers appropriate for weather. medium pace, this should take 6 hours, not counting rest stops.

End of Day:  Celebratory drinks and snacks at Bruce’s house in Stratford at 7 PM.
