Avon Trail started as a trail association in 1975.
Now, 50 years on, we continue to celebrate hiking on the Avon Trail. Our volunteer leaders are providing two different opportunities to hike the Avon Trail End to End.
The Avon Trail runs from Conestogo near the Grand River in the east to St. Marys in the west. We are offering leader led hikes at no cost to you. Come and join a hike that fits your plan.
The leaders have two separate groupings of hikes planned. You can register to hike the trail in sections no larger than 15.5 kilometres. These hikes take place on Saturdays. The first hike will take place Saturday, April 26. The 10th hike occurs on Saturday, July 5.
For those hikers ready to hike longer distances (20 to 25 kilometres) in each hike, there are five hike dates starting Thursday, May 8. Black flies, mosquitoes or ticks should not pose any concern while hiking in May.

Commemorative badges were developed for this anniversary. They are available for purchase in the Shop at $10 for members, $15 for non-members.
