Whether you are a seasoned hiker or simply looking to experience the natural wonders of the Bruce/Saugeen Peninsula, the Bruce Trail Bonanza promises a memorable adventure filled with exploration, learning, and camaraderie. Lace up your boots and prepare for four unforgettable days on the Bruce Trail! 

Experience Four Days of Loop Hikes, Nature Discovery, and Shared Adventure 

Event Overview 

Join us for the Bruce Trail Bonanza, an immersive hiking experience that explores the stunning Bruce and Saugeen Peninsulas through a curated series of loop hikes. Discover the beauty and geology of this remarkable region as you traverse side trails at Lion’s Head, Devil’s Monument, Hope Bay, and the Obese Side Trail at Rural Roots. 

Hiking Highlights 

  • Four Days of Guided Loop Hikes: Each day features a unique set of trails, offering a variety of landscapes, challenges, and breathtaking vistas. 
  • Challenging Terrain: Enjoy magnificent views and fascinating geological formations, with some sections requiring stamina and sure footing. 
  • Flexible Distances: The longest hike, at Lion’s Head, covers 18 km (approximately 6 hours). Other days offer multiple loops with options to extend or shorten your hike, catering to all experience levels. 
  • Nature Identification: For those interested in earning additional badges, time will be set aside to identify local trees, ferns, and birds along the route. 

All hikes can be counted towards the Peninsula Side Trails badge program. 

Itinerary Details 

A detailed daily itinerary will be provided to all registered participants prior to the event. This will include hike schedules, trail maps, and any additional information to help you prepare for your adventure. 

Accommodation & Meals 

  • Suggested Accommodation: Silver Lake Mennonite Camp near Sauble Beach offers comfortable, shared accommodations. 
  • Included Meals: The package includes three nights’ stay along with three suppers, three lunches, and three breakfasts, ensuring you are well-fueled for your hikes. 
  • Carpooling: For those staying at Silver Lake, carpooling from camp to the trailheads will be arranged for convenience and community spirit. 

The total cost for the standard package is $400 + HST per person. For those wishing to extend their stay to Sunday night, an additional $60 + HST applies (note: food is not included for the extra night).
