Long-time Avon Trail member and landowner Patrick Feryn of Stratford died April 23 after a battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. A link to his obituary can be found HERE
Terry Aitken knew Patrick and remembers him as a man of perseverance.
Terry, along with Patrick, and other volunteers began working to create a trail in what is now the Harmony Loop side trail.
As Terry says, “Two or three years ago we were working on the harmony loop. Pat had the chainsaw. We had one last log to cut though, and it looked like we were not going to succeed, but Pat stuck with it and eventually sawed through it. I think the chainsaw was getting a bit blunt.”
As mentioned in Patrick’s obituary, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 10th at the Feryn homestead. Please refer to the obituary above to RSVP for details.
