DESCRIPTION:Registration and Waiting List are CLOSED\n\nThis supported hike is a chance to assist the Avon Trail to fund trail maintenance.  Upon completion each hiker will receive a badge designed specially for this event.\n\n\n\n Distance: 22 km \n Pace: hike at your own pace \n Terrain: moderate \n Duration: should take between 4 and 6 hours depending on walker \nRain or Shine \n Meeting time: 8:20 am for sign in \n Meeting place: Wildwood Conservation area kiosk\, 3995 Line 9\, St. Marys\, ON \n Hike Route Overview: Hikers will follow the Wildwood Lake trail\, counter clockwise\, with beautiful woodland walking and lake views.  The route offers two rest stations with snacks and hot drinks. \nDROP OUTS: Dropouts from rest stops are possible.  A ride back to your car is offered should you need it. \nRecommendations: dress according to the weather and wear good walking shoes/boots\, bring a hat and dress in layers. Bring a lunch and bring plenty of water. \nEvent price: $35.00 per person \nPlease note: Wildwood charges an $10 parking fee per vehicle (no extra charge for multiple passengers) at the entrance to Wildwood.  This is not covered by the Event fee. \nPARTICIPANTS are invited to a 7:00 pm post hike gathering at Bruce’s house in Stratford.   \n REGISTRATION REQUIRED \nClick HERE to register and book.

The trail passes through Beachville\, 35 minute drive. \n Today’s  ramble will be led by Tracy. We will carpool to the start and park at the Trail Head and park at the far end of the parking lot. We will hike for 6km on this easy trail. Please\, remember to bring water to drink.  Coffee time follows at Kintore Coffee Company\, 117 Huron Street\, Embro. \nHere are directions to the Trail Head: Turn left out of parking lot on to Lakeside drive which becomes Veterans Drive after the first set of lights. At the second set of lights go straight onto Erie Street. Continue to fourth set of lights which is Embro Road (113) and turn left. Continue for approx.. 31 km\, past the first round-a-bout until the next road\, Rd. 66 and turn left. Turn right at 41 st\nLine which becomes Domtar Line. Parking lot is on the left shortly after the railroad track (this is an active RR).

Leaving the arena parking lot\, the drivers will take road 37 (Vivian Lane) east to Road 110. Here they will turn south (right)\, travel south of the bridge and Avon River and park on the west side. The ramble will proceed east on the trail to Lynn River Farm and return  -3.1 km each way. The grass has been cut on this section recently. We need boots on the ground. \nCoffee time follows.

We will then take the first left after Amulree onto 106. After about a kilometer we’ll park on the right side of the road (Avontrail kilometer 68.5). We’ll walk west to road 107 and back.
