Drive/carpool to hike starting point. Our route takes us along the edge of crop land\, by abandoned gravel pit\, into a mature Carolinian woodlot abundant with wild flowers\, and along banks of Trout Creek\, a main tributary of Thames River. A Scavenger Hunt activity will focus on some of Nature’s wonders. Or\, meet at 9:20 am at the trail head in the village of Hickson (GPS ref. 43.2401\,-80.7997).\nA pleasant walk along the newly completed section of the Hickson Rail Trail\, beginning in the village of Hickson and walking two concessions to Oxford Rd. 33\, including the newly opened section of the trail with two new 53-foot bridges.\nFollowing the hike\, optional lunch at Quehl’s\, 33 Woodstock St. S.\, Tavistock.\nReturn to Stratford by 1:30 pm. \nHike leader: Bernard (berngowa@gmail.com)
