DESCRIPTION:Meet Up Location: Allman Arena north parking lot off Lakeside Drive at Morenz Dr \nDeparture Time is 9:00 am Sharp.  Please arrive early to receive instructions and directions. \nTerrain: varies from easy to strenuous. \nPace: Medium – 3 – 4 km per hour \nDetails: The first ramble in June brings us back to the Mitchell area. We leave the Allman Arena by carpool travelling to the Mitchell area. Rose will lead the hike along trails of the West Perth wetlands on the south of Mitchell. Binoculars would be a great asset to bring along. The trails are flat\, linear and grassy. We will visit the Demonstration Forest seen from Highway 8. These native trees were planted in 2013. Relevant info can be found on each tree. \n Coffee time follows.

We will hike through wood lots and beside farmer’s fields \nPace: Medium – 3 – 4 km per hour \nDistance: 5-6 km \nDetails: Linda will lead this hike. After meeting at the Allman Arena\, we will carpool to km 83.8 on Berlett’s Road. This is the direction to the trail access point: Travel east on Erb’s Road to Phillipsburg. Turn left (north) onto Nafziger Road. When you reach Berlett’s Road\, turn left.  \nBug repellent and water are recommended. \nCoffee time follows.

After meeting at the Allman Area\, hikers will carpool to the hike start point on the Avon Trail at kilometer As Rolland describes\, “We will drive east on Road 43 past Amulree. We will then take the first left after Amulree onto 106. After about a kilometer we’ll park on the right side of the road (Avontrail kilometer 68.5). We’ll walk west to road 107 and back. I picked this trail because it is mostly in the forest and Tuesday’s forecast is for hot and dry conditions”. \nCoffee time follows the hike for those who wish to join. \n
