Join us on Saturday, August 8th, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., for Harrington Bridge Day to celebrate the completion of the bridge across the creek that completes the trail around the Harrington Pond.
Harrington & Area Community Association (HACA) has worked in partnership with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority to build this bridge and invites people from all walks (pun intended) to join in gentle festivities for its official opening.
Ceremonies will unfold on the bridge at 11:00 a.m., including live music featuring Harrington’s own special musical personalities.
Tours of the historic Harrington Grist Mill will be provided at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Outside the mill, local collector John Hiuser will display “carved cork” bridges.
The Harrington Library (branch of Oxford County Library), located just a few dozen metres east of the bridge, will host a free juggling and magic show with Doug the Great at 1:00 p.m.
Our local floral farm, The Garden in Harrington, will have a booth. Food/Refreshments will be available.
And, of course, you will be welcome to walk the trail.
